Dear Winaukee Camper,

We know that perhaps you are wondering what your first summer at Winaukee will be like. You may even be a little nervous. Most boys going away to camp for the first time feel the same way. We want you to know that our directors and staff have loads of experience helping new campers make new friends and get used to camp life.

Before camp, we work very hard to place you in a cabin with other boys your age who share similar interests. We ask your parents to complete a questionnaire that gives us information about your interests and goals for the summer. We review the questionnaire with your parents and discuss our recommendations for your cabin mates. In addition, before the summer begins, your group leader will call you to welcome you to Winaukee and to answer any questions you may have.

Once you get to camp, there are lots of friendly staff members who will familiarize you with the camp and program. Your bunk counselors and group leaders will always be available to make your adjustment to camp as comfortable as possible. If you are in the Junior Row, our two "Camp Moms" can help you with the kind of things that your real mom does at home. The bunk unit is important at Winaukee. We go all out to make sure that our new campers develop great friendships by sharing wonderful, positive camp experiences.

Can't wait to see you at camp this summer, as we welcome you to the Winaukee Family.

Warmest regards,
Bart, Freedo and Tony
